YES, Keygeek Y2X is an upgrade to the Keygeek Y2 switches. Y2X feels slightly smoother, sounds even deeper and thockier.
Keygeek Y2X is a factory-lubed linear switch from MZ Studio, tuned for exceptionally smooth travel and a pure, deeply thocky sound profile.
The transparent PA12 top and bottom housings let the switch's concentrated, clean sound character shine through while maintaining a smooth keypress. Its upgraded U8 UPE stem material builds on U5 to deliver a more concentrated, deeper and thockier sound, improved rebound, and better unwanted-noise control at bottom-out.
Four spring weights cover everyday typing, switch enthusiasts, gaming, and heavier keypress preferences. Comprehensive factory lubrication provides even, durable, ready-to-use smoothness and excellent noise control.

Overall rating: 4.7 / 5 from 12 reviews.
I have been so thrilled with these Keygeek Y2X switches. The most difficult part about owning them is trying to decide which board to keep them in. I am fairly certain that I will be buying more.
The switches are what they are described to be. A superior upgrade to the Y2. Probably the “thockiest” switches out there. The only issue is that it seems that the switches are very hard to remove. Probably has to do with tolerance consistency. I broke i few of the switches specifically on the rgb diffuser frame area.
first of all, these switches sound AMAZING. i have them with a POM plate, full foam build with PBT cherry caps, and it sounds somewhere along the lines of tapping two solid pieces of wood together, or two very solid marbles. deep, thocky, and resonant. sounds lovely in the mods as well. however, as another review brought up, these switches can be HARD to remove. i tested them on a couple different boards and they were an absolute pain. that's the only reason these aren't a 5/5. i'd place them like a 4.5/5 if i could
The switches both were nearly impossible to remove on both my keychron q2 pcb and my ningning60 pcb, and removing them either needed me to physically press from below on the pcb to push out or required such force that it damaged and bent the plastic surrounding the release hooks. Great sound though.
As stated in the product description, I feel like this is a true upgrade from Y2. While retaining the deep and thocky sound of the keys, It now operates more smoothly.
