The HMX KD200 switch now has its successor. The KD400 switches are a new clack king and they are manufactured by HMX using the newest molds and newest materials.
The KD400 is the first-ever HMX switch that uses the M1 strengthened POM stem and the N3 bottom housing. When they collide, it creates a unique and clacky sound profile. It is reminiscent of the classic HMX clack, but there is something more to it.
Mold-wise, KD400 uses the L3 mold sets with a slightly larger gap between the stem and the top housing, allowing for a super smooth travel.
These switches are a unique existence among the HMX linear lineup, and a must try if you are a clack lover.

Ordered those switches from UniKeys and though shipping got delayed (so I haven't tested them yet!), the buying experience was top-tier.
Huge thanks to Dashan for being so supportive. UniKeys is definitely the best place to buy mechanical keyboard switches!

These are great. I’ve used so many hmx switches and so far these are my favorite. I have replaced my Geon F1’s and Glare65’s switches with these switches and they sound flawless and the factory lubing is consistent and well done. The kd200 and hmx retro t’s I had before in these boards were also great, but these kd400 are even better.

Super Clacky, I have the 63g bottom out version and they are very nice to type on, probably my favourite heavy linear for 2026 so far 😀

Awesome switches. I can only compare them to the Xinhai and Oil Kings, and I think HMX has once again brought us a killer switch. The KD400 feel super smooth and have a very crisp sound. They're also a little louder compared to the Xinhai, but I wouldn't expect a huge difference. All in all very well recommended.
