The Waverider V2 tactile switch is the successor to the classic KTT Waverider tactile switch that was released back in 2023.
The new Waverider V2 tactile switch is now manufactured by HMX using their super-popular tactile designs. They come with a P tactile bump and a slightly longer than usual 3.8mm travel distance. This design pays tribute to the V1, which also had a large P and close to D tactile bump and slightly longer travel.
Overall, the Waverider V2 switches are clacky, crisp, and clean to type on.

Yes! Stem legs and stem sliders are covered with a very thin coat of 205g0. The spring and leaf are lubed with dry film. Everything else is dry. There is no lube in the bottom housing or anywhere near the stem pole. The chance that these get lube pooling issue is very small.

I am not the biggest tactile fan, but these are quite good overall: nice bump, the spring feels nice and the sound profile is pleasing.
This is a very cracky, high-quality switch.
The bump is relatively large and provides a strong tactile sensation.
It produces a good sound with both soft and hard plates.
It's one of my top five favorite tactile switches!
These switches is even clackier thank the Aperol and like music to my ears love it. It might be the loudest and clackiest out of all my switches. Highly recommended and thanks again Unikeys
Very good tactile switch. It has a long travel with some post-linear travel after the large P-shaped tactile bump. The travel feels quite a bit when you’re so used to Hydras, Retro Js, BM10/Goldstems etc. with the large D-shaped tactile bump and shorter travel, but it’s not uncomfortable. Certainly feels very light to type on. Factory lubing is exceptional as per HMX’s standards. Great clack. RGB is decent with the transparent top-housing but feels lacking without a light diffuser and using thicker keycaps.
Stem will be flushed into the top housing on full keypress, so it ideally this switch is best for south-facing boards if using cherry profile keycaps. Tested on north-facing direction and the keycap does interfere when pressed down.
