Four listed operating-force options cover light through firmer linear keypresses.
Keygeek Y2 Linear Switch
The Keygeek Y2 switch, designed by MZ Studio, again proves to us that Keygeek has no limits when it comes to innovation. The Y2 switches use Keygeek's newest waffle stem tip molding to create an extremely deep sound profile. The stem tip comes with a textured design, which reduces the contact surface area to eliminate any possible clacky or poppy tone.
The PA12 housing increases the overall smoothness and further minimizes any scratch sound that might exist, leading to a pure and deep bottom-out sound profile.

Sound-Focused Linear Design
Built Around a Deep Bottom-Out Sound
Designed by MZ Studio and manufactured by Keygeek, the Y2 uses a waffle-textured stem tip to change how the stem contacts the bottom housing. The goal is a deeper, more concentrated bottom-out character rather than a sharper pop or clack.
The confirmed material stack combines a U5+ UPE-blend stem with PA12 top and bottom housings. UniKeys positions this combination around smooth travel and reduced scratch noise while keeping the Y2's deep acoustic identity at the center of the design.
Specification Guide
Four Force Options for Different Typing Preferences
The Y2 keeps the same core housing and stem construction across its spring variants. The main choice is how light or firm you want the switch to feel through the press and at bottom-out.
Choose the end-of-travel resistance that best matches your typing or gaming preference.
The listed pre-travel indicates how far the stem moves before the switch actuates.
The Y2 uses a moderately shortened total travel compared with a traditional 4.0mm switch.
Stem, Housing & Spring
PA12 Housing with a U5+ UPE-Blend Stem
The Y2's sound and feel are shaped by a U5+ UPE-blend stem paired with PA12 top and bottom housings. The current product description specifically links the PA12 housing to smoother travel and lower scratch noise.
- The 37g bottom-out variant is listed with a 22mm spring.
- The 45g and 53g bottom-out variants are listed with 20mm springs.
- The 63g bottom-out variant is listed with an 18mm spring.
- All variants use single-stage Japanese-wire springs and are sold factory lubed.
Sound, Weight & Build Fit
Who Is the Keygeek Y2 Most Likely to Suit?
The Y2 is positioned as a smooth linear switch with a deliberately deep, thock-oriented bottom-out. The four spring choices let the same acoustic concept work for users who prefer lighter or firmer resistance.
May Suit
- Enthusiasts building for a deeper, lower-pitched linear switch sound.
- Users who want smooth linear travel without a tactile bump or click.
- Typists or gamers who want several spring-weight choices within the same switch design.
- Builders who prefer factory-lubed switches that can be installed without additional hand-lubing.
May Not Suit
- Users specifically looking for tactile feedback or a click mechanism.
- Shared-space builds where silent or damped switches are the main requirement.
- Buyers targeting an intentionally bright, sharp or high-pitched clacky sound.
- Anyone who wants a single fixed spring weight with no variant choice.
Before You Order
Choose the Spring Weight and Pack Count First
One quantity contains 10 switches. Select the preferred bottom-out option—37g, 45g, 53g or 63g—then order enough 10-switch packs for the keyboard layout.
The current product page does not make a universal compatibility claim. Before a full-board purchase, compare the product's visible switch format with the PCB, plate and mounting requirements of the keyboard you plan to use.

Love these switches, actually the first non silent switches that i have used. Good low sound. Depending on the board, i use it on my tofu 60 redux 2, fr4 plate no foam.

Properly smooth thockiness that I was looking for

one of the switches actually sadly came not exactly like the others. It only activates and registers sometimes and the top housing is actually not completely transparent but a bit more opaque than any of the others. In the video, the one I'm referencing is the one that is out of the board and I'm clicking.

Insane thock. I think it's the king of thock switches. Don't overthink it, just buy this one and enjoy. The process was great, received it quickly and all switches arrived in perfect condition. My favorite store by a long mile.

I think these live up to the hype! They're really nice and have a deeper thocky sound signature. The only downside is that the switch's deep red colour does impact RGB a bit but other than that, if you don't care for RGB, these are probably one of the best reasonably priced switches in the market right now. Specs: Leobog Hi75 Pro barebones with the Y2 switches (45g), keycaps are from aliexpress - maimoo milky white moa profile keycaps

Switch is overall super great. In person dounds thocky, almost wood like. For a thock lovers absolutely best switch on the market, also great thanks for unikeys. Some switches arrived broken, and they sent replacement switches instantly. Overall great purchasing experience, recommend!

Definitely better than my previous red swith, very smooth, quieter and the thock is very nice.

Deep, low-pitched sound with a buttery, creamy feel. Slightly heavy spring weight makes every keypress solid and satisfying.

Amazing switches! I've ordered two batches before and they're consistently fantastic, I still haven't received a dud.
Shai G. 5/5 Verified
THOCKY. This is one of the most if not the most thocky switch that exists on the market right now. Nothing else comes close really, except the SU V2 from keygeek which is a refined version of this one but still sounds a bit less thocky for my ears. Also these switches are a lot lighter than what you might think, because they're so smooth. So the 63g version is perfect. I used the 45g first and I didnt like it

Just what I was looking for. These give that thocky sound while also having a bit of that marbely sound. The heavier spring was better than expected and makes each key press feel more meaningful.

Quick shipping and great price as always. And they always have the switches I want to try, no matter how popular they seem the be at that moment. Looking forward to trying another set soon.

9/10 Good, 63g bottom out wasnt so heavy after all, wouldave wish it is clear though, the red makes the led redder, good light penetration, if you were to buy this get the lighter one, the sound almost makes no difference (tested with 40g spring, almost no difference in sound) Keyboard: epomaker p75 (bought for 70$ on amazon a the time of the purchase) Keycaps: Sumgsn white jade translucent keycaps (sa profile) Stock stablizers (factory lubed) Decent amount of lube in the switch considering it was factory lubed as well

This switch is entire octaves deeper than most switches, and it has a nice combination of a smooth and light press. It instantly became one of my favorite switches.

I lubed those bitches for 8 Hours straight and I couldn’t be happier. They feel very smooth to type on and they have a very low Sound Profile. They Sound like you would type on foam, quiet yet Deep. I am super happy with them, can only recommend. :)

Great thocky Switches. Would love for them to be transparent, because the red casing colours the RGB (white becomes pink). Very smooth switches maybe a TINY little bit scrachier than the oat linears which were originally installed in the Evo80. But the feel and sound are fantastic, love the switches!

The y2s + mchose gx87 ultra. Honestly, these are the best switches I've ever used. Now I'm planning to get the ceramic key caps with it. Can't wait !

They switches sound and feel great. The sound is very low and has that "thock" everyone is looking for. However, I installed 90 switches and at least 5 of them were defective right out of the bag. They display missed button presses and sometimes double presses. Completely unusable. This does not lead to a great deal of confidence that the rest of the switches will hold up over time. Edit: Bumped up to 4 stars because UniKeys reached out to replace the defective switches. Not just the defective ones, but some extras too, just in case. Good customer service. I hope QC can improve or my first order was just a fluke.

Incredible switch. I bought the 53g bottom out one and they are decent for a guy coming from 50gf tactile switches. Sounds creamy and thocky (might remind you of good ol' 2022 keeb scene). Feel is very pillowy and mellowy which surprised me a bit. It feels like there's a very mellowy resistance just before you bottom-out so I think these might have been a bit overlubed. Zero scratching and very smooth as usual. All that said, I am gonna take a one start away just because how weak the housing is + having a really hard time trying fit it into my Crush80. I tried for half an hour trying to fit few of these but ended up damaging the housing trying to pull them out. This is a problem I have encountered with Jasmine V2s so looks like KG switches aren't compatible with Crush0s sockets for some reason. Fitted in just fine with my Aula F99 though. 4/5. Best creamy and thocky switch on the market right now. Ideal if you are going for a plastic case with PP/POM/PC plate.

These are the best linear switches I've ever had. It feels really nice to type on, and it makes a great sound. I've been looking for switches that make the deepest sound for a long time, and I finally found them. The delivery was fast and the shop communicated well. Thank you, Unikeys!

This is my second time buying these switches, they're incredibly smooth and have such a unique sound profile I think they're truly a fantastic option. The only negative is that my previous purchase was for the 45g version and the stem wobble is a fair bit more noticeable compared to those. It's not bad but something I thought I'd mention.
Shai G. 4/5 Verified
The best switches I've ever had, not too loud, soft bottom out, perfect for fans of thock.

Left is keygeek PA, right is Y2. Love the spring options as I prefer much lighter weights. It’s a very interesting switch because it can give a board without any foam in it that somewhat foamy deep sound profile. When you pair them with foam it gets even crazier. This board is no foam so you can guess how deep it gets with.
