EU Return, Refund & Withdrawal Policy
This policy applies only to consumers located within the European Union (EU).
1. Statutory Right of Withdrawal
If you are an EU consumer, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day on which you, or a third party indicated by you (other than the carrier), acquire physical possession of the final item in your order.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us before the withdrawal period expires by submitting a request through:
Your request should include your name, order number, email address, and a clear statement that you wish to withdraw from the purchase.
2. Return Procedure
After submitting a withdrawal request, you must ship the product back to us within 14 days of notifying us.
Items returned without prior authorization or without first submitting a withdrawal request may be refused.
We recommend using a tracked shipping service. UniKeys is not responsible for items that are lost, damaged, or destroyed during return transit. However, we will reasonably assist customers with carrier claims where possible.
3. Condition of Returned Items
Customers may inspect products as they would in a physical retail store.
However, we reserve the right to reduce the refund amount if the returned item shows signs of handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the product, including but not limited to:
- Visible signs of use, wear, or assembly;
- Missing accessories, components, manuals, or packaging;
- Damaged packaging beyond what is necessary to inspect the product;
- Damage caused by misuse, modification, or user error;
- Missing keycaps, switches, screws, cables, tools, or included accessories.
Any reduction in value will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
4. Return Shipping Costs
Unless otherwise required by law, customers are responsible for return shipping costs.
Customers are also responsible for any costs associated with the return shipment, including customs charges, duties, taxes, brokerage fees, and insurance fees.
5. Refunds
Once the returned item has been received and inspected, we will process the refund without undue delay and no later than 14 days after receiving the returned goods or receiving evidence that the goods have been shipped back, whichever occurs first.
Refunds will be issued using the same payment method used for the original purchase unless otherwise agreed.
Refunds will include:
- The purchase price paid for the returned item; and
- The cost of the least expensive standard shipping option originally offered by UniKeys.
Additional shipping charges for expedited, priority, DHL, FedEx, UPS Express, or other premium shipping services are not refundable.
Items purchased using promotional discounts, coupons, loyalty rewards, or sale pricing will be refunded only for the amount actually paid.
6. Non-Returnable & Exempt Products
The statutory right of withdrawal does not apply where EU law provides an exemption, including but not limited to:
- Custom-made products manufactured according to customer specifications;
- Personalized products;
- Products specifically produced or ordered for an individual customer;
- Other categories exempt from withdrawal rights under applicable law.
Examples may include:
- Custom keyboard configurations built specifically to customer specifications;
- Personalized engravings;
- Special-order components sourced specifically for a customer's order.
Where an exemption applies, the product page will indicate that the item is not eligible for cancellation or withdrawal after production has begun.
7. Group Buy & Pre-Order Products
During the Group Buy or Pre-Order Period
Customers may cancel their order for a full refund before the stated Group Buy or Pre-Order period ends.
After the Group Buy or Pre-Order Period Ends
If the product qualifies as a custom-made or made-to-order product exempt from the EU right of withdrawal, cancellations and refunds will no longer be available once production has begun.
If the product does not qualify for a statutory exemption under EU law, customers retain any withdrawal rights granted by applicable consumer protection legislation.
8. Requests That Do Not Qualify for Refunds or Replacements
Except where required by applicable consumer protection law, refunds, replacements, or compensation will not be provided for:
- Change of mind after the withdrawal period has expired;
- Preferences regarding acoustics, sound profile, aesthetics, typing feel, switch feel, color tone, or subjective product characteristics;
- Estimated shipping dates, production timelines, delivery dates, or manufacturing delays;
- Attempts to obtain multiple units for comparison, selection, resale, or "binning";
- Failed delivery attempts due to incorrect address, refusal to accept delivery, or unavailability at delivery address.
